Tom Lapke is considered one of the industry's foremost experts on the "business of being an actor."  

 

As one of the founders of Actors Launchpad, and Backstage University before that, Tom has programmed over 1500 classes for actors with Casting Directors, Agents, and Managers. He has used that experience to help actors learn not just "how to act, but how to be an actor."

 

Tom is one of the owners of Six Legions Media which runs both Actors Launchpad and REELARC, the premiere scene creation company in the US. He was also a professor at NYU where he taught The Business of Acting and regularly lectured at the Actors Studio Drama School.

 

Prior to all this, Tom was the creator of the wildly popular website, Audition Update, which he ran before selling it to Backstage.
